Torslide Injection contains Torsemide (10mg/ml), a potent loop diuretic used to treat fluid retention (edema) and hypertension. It works by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in the loop of Henle in the kidneys, leading to increased urine production and reduced fluid overload. This helps in managing conditions like congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic kidney disease (CKD), liver cirrhosis, and hypertension.
Compared to other diuretics, Torsemide has a longer duration of action, better bioavailability, and a reduced risk of electrolyte imbalances. It is often preferred in patients who require effective diuresis with a lower risk of potassium depletion.
Torslide Injection is typically administered intravenously in hospital settings for rapid fluid removal in acute heart failure, pulmonary edema, or hypertensive emergencies. It provides quick relief from breathlessness, swelling (edema), and high blood pressure by promoting fluid elimination.
Common side effects include dizziness, dehydration, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances, muscle cramps, and increased urination. Serious side effects may include hypokalemia, ototoxicity (hearing issues), and allergic reactions.
Torslide Injection is used for the management of edema associated with heart failure, kidney disease, and liver cirrhosis, as well as for controlling high blood pressure.
Torslide Injection should be used under medical supervision. Monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels regularly to prevent complications. Avoid use in patients with severe kidney impairment without proper medical evaluation.
