Torasemide PCD Pharma Franchise Company

Torasemide PCD Pharma Franchise Company

Cafoli Lifecare is a WHO-GMP certified PCD pharma franchise company offering Torasemide — currently 2 formulations in tablet form — to distributors and franchise partners across India, with district-level monopoly rights. Torasemide is the International Non-proprietary Name for the molecule also marketed as torsemide; if you are looking for the injection and the wider tablet set, see our Torsemide franchise range.

What is Torasemide?

Torasemide is a loop diuretic. It acts on the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, where it inhibits the sodium-potassium-two-chloride (Na-K-2Cl) cotransporter, preventing the reabsorption of sodium and chloride and drawing water out with them. The result is a strong, sustained diuresis that relieves fluid overload. Compared with furosemide, it is absorbed more completely and predictably from the gut and acts for longer. It is prescription-only and requires monitoring of electrolytes and renal function. Compound and pharmacology data are available on PubChem.

Therapeutic Applications of Torasemide

  • Oedema and fluid overload in congestive heart failure
  • Oedema associated with chronic kidney disease
  • Ascites and oedema in hepatic cirrhosis
  • Hypertension, particularly where a diuretic is needed alongside other antihypertensives

Prescribers are cardiologists, nephrologists, hepatologists and general physicians. Electrolyte and renal monitoring is part of routine therapy.

Why Torasemide is a High-Potential Molecule for Distributors

Heart failure is one of the fastest-growing chronic disease burdens in India, and diuretics are the one class almost every symptomatic patient stays on. What makes Torasemide interesting rather than merely necessary is that it is actively taking share from furosemide: its near-complete oral absorption holds up even in patients whose gut is congested, which is exactly the population that fails on furosemide and ends up back in hospital. Cardiologists therefore switch patients across deliberately, and once switched they rarely switch back. For a distributor, that produces the best kind of demand — a chronic, daily, indefinite medicine with a prescriber-driven migration trend running in its favour, and a small, easily covered specialist base to detail to.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

This range covers 2 tablet formulations listed under the INN spelling Torasemide. A wider set of presentations, including injection, is listed on our Torsemide page — the two spellings refer to the same molecule.

Yes. Torasemide is allotted on a monopoly basis, one Cafoli Lifecare partner per district or defined territory, so no other partner will be selling the same SKUs into your market.

Cardiologists managing heart failure, nephrologists, hepatologists treating ascites in cirrhosis, and general physicians managing oedema and resistant hypertension.

Torasemide has a more predictable and near-complete oral bioavailability and a longer duration of action than furosemide, which gives smoother diuresis over the day rather than a sharp early peak. In heart failure patients whose gut absorption is impaired by congestion, that reliability is the main reason cardiologists switch.

A valid Drug License and a GST registration number are required. Torasemide is a prescription-only medicine and must be stocked and supplied under your Drug License.
