Theophylline 400 mg Tablet is a bronchodilator used to relieve and prevent symptoms of asthma, chronic bronchitis, and other lung diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and improving airflow to the lungs. Theophylline also has mild anti-inflammatory effects and enhances diaphragmatic contractility, improving breathing efficiency in patients with chronic respiratory conditions
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, insomnia, tremors, or increased heart rate. Higher doses or elevated blood levels may lead to serious side effects such as seizures or cardiac arrhythmias.
Indicated for the management and prevention of asthma, bronchospasm, chronic bronchitis, and COPD. It is also used as adjunct therapy in respiratory diseases where bronchospasm is a component.
Use strictly under medical supervision. Serum theophylline levels should be monitored to avoid toxicity. Avoid caffeine-containing products during treatment. Inform your doctor of all medications to prevent drug interactions.
