S-Amlodipine 5 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain caused by heart problems (angina). S-Amlodipine is the active S-enantiomer of amlodipine, which means it provides the same blood pressure-lowering and heart-protective effects at a lower dose with potentially fewer side effects. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart. This helps control blood pressure, prevent strokes, heart attacks, and also improves blood supply to the heart in people with angina.
