Polyflip B Injection contains Polymyxin B (500,000 IU), a potent antibiotic used for treating severe bacterial infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. It is particularly effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, which can cause life-threatening hospital-acquired infections.
Polymyxin B works by disrupting bacterial cell membranes, leading to bacterial cell death. Due to its strong bactericidal properties, it is primarily reserved for critically ill patients when other antibiotics fail.
This injection is commonly used in septicemia, pneumonia, urinary tract infections (UTIs), meningitis, and peritonitis. Since it carries a risk of nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, its use is closely monitored in clinical settings.
May cause kidney toxicity, nerve damage, dizziness, muscle weakness, and injection site reactions.
For the treatment of severe Gram-negative bacterial infections, including sepsis, pneumonia, UTIs, and meningitis.
Use only under medical supervision, with dosage monitoring to minimize toxicity risks.
