Ofloglee Suspension contains Ofloxacin (50mg/5ml), a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in children. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an essential enzyme for bacterial replication and repair, thereby stopping the spread and growth of infection-causing bacteria. The suspension form is specially formulated for pediatric use, allowing for easy dosage and administration.
It helps in the treatment of various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections (like diarrhea or dysentery), and certain ear or throat infections in children. It offers fast relief by directly targeting the bacterial cause of the illness, promoting quicker recovery.
Mild side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhea. Rarely, it may cause dizziness, allergic reactions, or changes in taste. In case of severe reactions, discontinue and consult a doctor immediately.
Indicated for children with bacterial infections sensitive to ofloxacin, particularly respiratory, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary infections. Always use under pediatric supervision.
Use only under a doctor’s supervision. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early. Do not use in viral infections like flu or the common cold. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight during treatment due to possible photosensitivity.
