Glycopyrronium IP 25 mcg Respule is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) bronchodilator used in the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by blocking the M3 receptors in airway smooth muscles, leading to sustained bronchodilation and improved airflow. The formulation offers effective once-daily maintenance treatment, helping reduce symptoms like breathlessness, wheezing, and chronic cough.
Glycopyrronium is usually well tolerated. Some patients may experience dry mouth, constipation, sore throat, or urinary tract infection. Less commonly, dizziness, palpitations, or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. If severe side effects develop, consult a physician immediately.
This respule is indicated for long-term maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It is not intended for the relief of acute bronchospasm or as a rescue therapy during sudden breathing difficulty.
Use only as prescribed by a registered medical practitioner. Not to be used for acute episodes of bronchospasm. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Always use with a nebulizer device as directed. Avoid contact with eyes.
