Fluxacillin Dry Syrup contains Flucloxacillin Sodium IP 125 mg, a penicillin-class, narrow-spectrum antibiotic effective primarily against gram-positive bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial lysis and death. Flucloxacillin is especially known for its resistance to β-lactamase enzymes, making it useful in treating infections caused by β-lactamase-producing staphylococci. The dry syrup formulation is ideal for pediatric use, allowing ease of administration and precise dosage adjustment in children.

About the Product

The syrup is generally well tolerated in children. Mild side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, or diarrhea. Rarely, allergic skin reactions, rash, or liver enzyme changes may be observed. Any signs of allergy or intolerance should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately.

Fluxacillin Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as skin and soft tissue infections, impetigo, boils, infected wounds, respiratory tract infections (like pharyngitis and bronchitis), and bone and joint infections caused by susceptible organisms, especially Staphylococcus aureus.

Use this medication only as prescribed by a doctor. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve earlier. Shake the bottle well before use after reconstitution. Do not use after the recommended period post reconstitution. Not suitable for children with known penicillin allergy.

Store the dry powder in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Once reconstituted, refrigerate the syrup and use within 7 days. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
