Sodium Chloride 3% Respules are sterile hypertonic saline solutions used for inhalation therapy. This formulation contains 3% sodium chloride, which helps draw moisture into the airways, thinning thick mucus and improving clearance from the respiratory tract. It is commonly used with nebulizers for conditions where enhanced mucociliary clearance is desired, such as bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It promotes easier breathing by facilitating the expulsion of stubborn secretions.
Generally well tolerated. Some users may experience mild throat irritation, coughing, bronchospasm, or a salty taste in the mouth. These effects are usually transient. If symptoms persist or worsen, medical consultation is advised.
Primarily indicated for airway hydration and mucus thinning in respiratory conditions like cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, COPD, and acute bronchiolitis. Also used to relieve congestion and support lung hygiene during respiratory therapy.
Use only under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Not for injection. Do not use if the solution is cloudy or contains particles. Use each respule immediately after opening and discard any unused portion.
Store at room temperature (15-30°C), away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
