Ceforom Injection contains Cefpirome (1gm), a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat severe and hospital-acquired bacterial infections. Cefpirome works by disrupting the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of bacteria. It is especially effective against a broad range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms, including many resistant strains.
It helps in the treatment of serious infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, and infections in immunocompromised patients.
Common side effects include pain at the injection site, nausea, vomiting, rash, or diarrhea. Rarely, it may cause allergic reactions, liver function changes, or changes in blood counts.
Used in the management of life-threatening or hospital-acquired infections including severe pneumonia, bloodstream infections, complicated urinary or abdominal infections, and post-surgical infections.
Should be administered only by a healthcare professional. Inform your doctor about any history of allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins. Dose adjustments may be needed in kidney-impaired patients. Complete the full course as prescribed.
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Protect from light. Reconstituted solution should be used promptly or as advised. Keep out of reach of children.
