Ilaprime DSR Capsule is a dual-action gastroprokinetic and acid-suppressing formulation designed to manage acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. Ilaprazole is a potent, long-acting proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, effectively reducing gastric acid secretion and promoting ulcer healing. Its enteric-coated form ensures stability and targeted release in the intestine. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby reducing symptoms of nausea, vomiting, bloating, and reflux. The sustained-release formulation of Domperidone provides prolonged therapeutic action with once-daily dosing. This combination is particularly beneficial in treating conditions where both acid suppression and improved motility are required, offering comprehensive relief in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and dyspepsia.
Common side effects include headache, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, and mild nausea. Long-term PPI use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and, rarely, bone fractures. Domperidone may cause mild QT prolongation in sensitive individuals; hence, caution is advised in patients with cardiac arrhythmias or electrolyte disturbances. Allergic reactions, although rare, can manifest as rash or swelling.
Ilaprime DSR Capsule is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid peptic disorders, erosive esophagitis, dyspepsia, and reflux-related nausea or vomiting. It may also be used as part of combination therapy for peptic ulcer disease and functional dyspepsia under medical supervision.
Ilaprime DSR Capsule should be taken before meals as directed by the physician. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, gastrointestinal bleeding, perforation, obstruction, or known hypersensitivity to PPIs or Domperidone. Caution is advised in patients with cardiac conditions or prolonged QT interval. Prolonged use of PPIs should be avoided unless prescribed, and dose tapering may be required to prevent rebound acid hypersecretion. This product is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Avoid concomitant use with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors or medications that prolong QT interval without medical supervision.
Store Ilaprime DSR Capsule in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the capsules in their original blister packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the pack.
